St. Patrick's Church Glencullen.JPG

St. Patrick’s Church, Glencullen, Dublin 18 (Protected Structure)
The building was built in 1907 and is one of the finest examples of Hiberno Romanesque Architecture in Ireland.  The building is clad in hand cut stone from local quarries and includes a fine exposed timber roof structure, stone detailing, tiling and stained glass windows.

The building had deteriorated since the 1960’s when the original stone altar was removed post Vatican 2.  The project provided for the total refurbishment of the building including new stone ambo, seat and altar, and new lighting scheme and heating.  Refurbishment of the roof, stone façade stained glass and the provision of storm glazing.

External works included raising local ground levels to provide disabled access, up grading of boundary railings, footpaths and the provision of external; lighting and footpaths and the repair/renewal o approx 450 lin/m of granite stone walling.
